I just wanted to share a list of my all time favorite rock albums. I've been thinking a lot about this list and I think I can say that this is by far the best music I know. Of course it's a matter of taste but here's my selection:

Beautiful Indie-Rock with a very melancholic feel. For the rainy days.

09: Menomena - Friend and Foe

Complicated Art-Rock which is often described as "unwieldy" in a positive way. Some tracks are quite accessible while others need some time to get the idea.

08: The Faint - Wet from Birth

This is something special. Actually it's no Rock but rather "Electro Clash". But since they are signed at Conor Oberst's Indie-Label "Saddle Creek" I put them into this list. Funny music with soulful lyrics.

07: Ween - The Mollusk

Interesting and somewhat funny Psychedelic Rock. I love to sind "The Golden Eel" with a friend when we're drunk.

06: Bright Eyes - Lifted (or The Story is in the Soil, Keep your Ear on the Ground)

Very poetic lyrics that provide an intimate insight into Conor Oberst's mind and life.

05: Pure Reason Revolution - The Dark Third

Psychedelic Rock that somehow reminds me of Pink Floyd. Beautiful melodies and incomprehensible lyrics. Very epic!

04: Modest Mouse - Good News for People who Love bad News

Very unique style. Never heard anything similar. This music is pure fun. Highly Recommended!

03: Interpol - Antics

Melancholic, darkwavy and cheerless Rock. It's actually Post-Punk but I call it "Urban Rock". Don't know why. Maybe because those guys are from NY. Ah, by the way: There is NO similarity to Joy Division, except for Paul's voice!

02: Death From Above 1979 - You're a Woman, I'm a Machine

Powerful alternative Rock that inevitably makes you move on your seat. Funny thing is that the band consisted of only two members and had no guitar but a tuned bass. This just rocks.
